CVSS v3.1 |
sylprint.pl in claws mail tools (claws-mail-tools) allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on the sylprint.[USER].[PID] temporary file.
Audacity 1.3.2 creates a temporary directory with a predictable name without checking for previous existence of that directory, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (recording deadlock) by creating the directory before Audacity is run. NOTE: this issue can be leveraged to delete arbitrary files or directories via a symlink attack.
cp, when running with an option to preserve symlinks on multiple OSes, allows local, user-assisted attackers to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack using crafted directories containing multiple source files that are copied to the same destination.
openexec in OpenBase SQL before 10.0.1 allows local users to create arbitrary files via a symlink attack on the /tmp/output file, a different vulnerability than CVE-2006-5328.
spell-check-logic.cgi in Moodle 1.8.2 allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on the (1) /tmp/spell-check-debug.log, (2) /tmp/spell-check-before, or (3) /tmp/spell-check-after temporary file.
mail2sms.sh in smsclient 2.0.8z allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on a (1) /tmp/header.##### or (2) /tmp/body.##### temporary file, or append data to arbitrary files via a symlink attack on the (3) /tmp/sms.log temporary file.
The distcheck rule in dist-check.mk in GNU coreutils 5.2.1 through 8.1 allows local users to gain privileges via a symlink attack on a file in a directory tree under /tmp.
MySQL 5.1.x before 5.1.41 allows local users to bypass certain privilege checks by calling CREATE TABLE on a MyISAM table with modified (1) DATA DIRECTORY or (2) INDEX DIRECTORY arguments that are originally associated with pathnames without symlinks, and that can point to tables created at a future time at which a pathname is modified to contain a symlink to a subdirectory of the MySQL data home directory, related to incorrect calculation of the mysql_unpacked_real_data_home value. NOTE: this vulnerability exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2008-4098 and CVE-2008-2079.
Digitaldesign CMS 0.1 stores sensitive information under the web root with insufficient access control, which allows remote attackers to download the database file via a direct request for autoconfig.dd.
bluetooth.rc in p3nfs 5.19 allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on the /tmp/blue.log temporary file.
The postfix.postinst script in the Debian GNU/Linux and Ubuntu postfix 2.5.5 package grants the postfix user write access to /var/spool/postfix/pid, which might allow local users to conduct symlink attacks that overwrite arbitrary files.
tau 2.16.4 allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on a (1) /tmp/makefile.tau.*.##### or (2) /tmp/makefile.tau*.##### temporary file, related to the (a) tau_cxx, (b) tau_f90, and (c) tau_cc scripts.
si_mkbootserver in systemimager-server 3.6.3 allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on a (1) /tmp/*.inetd.conf or (2) /tmp/pxe.conf.*.tmp temporary file.
inmail-show in mh-book 200605 allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on a (1) /tmp/inmail#####.log or (2) /tmp/inmail#####.stdin temporary file.
This issue was addressed with improved validation of symlinks. This issue is fixed in iOS 18.7.2 and iPadOS 18.7.2, iOS 26.1 and iPadOS 26.1, macOS Sequoia 15.7.2, macOS Sonoma 14.8.2, macOS Tahoe 26.1, tvOS 26.1, visionOS 26.1, watchOS 26.1. An app may be able to break out of its sandbox.
This issue was addressed with improved handling of symlinks. This issue is fixed in macOS Sequoia 15.7.2, macOS Sonoma 14.8.2, macOS Tahoe 26.1. An app may be able to access protected user data.
A logging issue was addressed with improved data redaction. This issue is fixed in iOS 18.7.2 and iPadOS 18.7.2, iOS 26.1 and iPadOS 26.1, macOS Sequoia 15.7.2, macOS Tahoe 26.1, visionOS 26.1. An attacker with physical access to an unlocked device paired with a Mac may be able to view sensitive user information in system logging.
This issue was addressed with improved validation of symlinks. This issue is fixed in macOS Sequoia 15.7.2, macOS Sonoma 14.8.2, macOS Tahoe 26.1. An app may be able to modify protected parts of the file system.
The Academy LMS – WordPress LMS Plugin for Complete eLearning Solution plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to PHP Object Injection in all versions up to, and including, 3.3.8 via deserialization of untrusted input in the 'import_all_courses' function. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Administrator-level access and above, to inject a PHP Object. No known POP chain is present in the vulnerable software, which means this vulnerability has no impact unless another plugin or theme containing a POP chain is installed on the site. If a POP chain is present via an additional plugin or theme installed on the target system, it may allow the attacker to perform actions like delete arbitrary files, retrieve sensitive data, or execute code depending on the POP chain present.
Deserialization of Untrusted Data vulnerability in Crocoblock JetEngine jet-engine allows Object Injection. This issue affects JetEngine: from n/a through < 3.8.4.1.
