CVE-2026-50251 1 Nlnetlabs 1 Unbound 2026-07-27 5.3 Medium
In NLnet Labs Unbound up to and including version 1.25.1, when 'unwanted-reply-threshold' is enabled (set to any value greater than zero), glue records of 0.0.0.0/::0 can short-circuit Unbound, on systems that can direct such traffic, by issuing DNS queries and receiving seemingly unwanted replies since the remote IP does not match the original source IP of 0.0.0.0/::0. This behavior keeps on looping for the glue records and pushing the counter to the configured 'unwanted-reply-threshold' that triggers a defensive cache clear. A malicious actor who controls a delegation that returns in-bailiwick glue of 0.0.0.0/::0 can drive the counter to the limit of 'unwanted-reply-threshold' to the threshold and trigger a cache clean of the message and rrset caches; at will, indefinitely, without sending a single spoofed packet. The iterator uses the 0.0.0.0/::0 glue, and a system that can route this (e.g., Linux kernel routes the datagram over loopback), Unbound's own listener answers from 127.0.0.1. Because of the mismatch of 0.0.0.0 and 127.0.0.1, in this example, Unbound accounts the reply as an unwanted (probably spoofed) answer. The counter resets to zero on every cache flush, so the attack loops forever.
CVE-2026-63968 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-07-26 7.5 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: fix possible infinite loop in fib6_select_path() Found while auditing the same pattern Sashiko reported in rt6_fill_node() [1]. Apply the same fix as commit f8d8ce1b515a ("ipv6: fix possible infinite loop in fib6_info_uses_dev()"). Writers holding tb6_lock can list_del_rcu(&first->fib6_siblings) without waiting for RCU readers; first->fib6_siblings.next then still points into the old ring and this softirq-side walker never reaches &first->fib6_siblings as its terminator. fib6_purge_rt() always WRITE_ONCE()s first->fib6_nsiblings to 0 before list_del_rcu(), so an inside-loop check is a reliable detach signal. CVE-2026-63969 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-07-26 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: fix possible infinite loop in rt6_fill_node() Sashiko reported this issue [1]. Apply the same fix as commit f8d8ce1b515a ("ipv6: fix possible infinite loop in fib6_info_uses_dev()"). Writers holding tb6_lock can list_del_rcu(&rt->fib6_siblings) without waiting for RCU readers; rt->fib6_siblings.next then still points into the old ring and this softirq-side walker never reaches &rt->fib6_siblings, causing a CPU stall. fib6_del_route() always WRITE_ONCE()s rt->fib6_nsiblings to 0 before list_del_rcu(), so an inside-loop check is a reliable detach signal. CVE-2026-63982 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-07-26 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: Fix ethx:ingress -> ethy:egress -> ethx:ingress mirred loop When mirred redirects to ingress (from either ingress or egress) the loop state from sched_mirred_dev array dev is lost because of 1) the packet deferral into the backlog and 2) the fact the sched_mirred_dev array is cleared. In such cases, if there was a loop we won't discover it. Here's a simple test to reproduce: ip a add dev port0 10.10.10.11/24 tc qdisc add dev port0 clsact tc filter add dev port0 egress protocol ip \ prio 10 matchall action mirred ingress redirect dev port1 tc qdisc add dev port1 clsact tc filter add dev port1 ingress protocol ip \ prio 10 matchall action mirred egress redirect dev port0 ping -c 1 -W0.01 10.10.10.10
CVE-2026-23451 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-07-24 7.5 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bonding: prevent potential infinite loop in bond_header_parse() bond_header_parse() can loop if a stack of two bonding devices is setup, because skb->dev always points to the hierarchy top. Add new "const struct net_device *dev" parameter to (struct header_ops)->parse() method to make sure the recursion is bounded, and that the final leaf parse method is called.
CVE-2026-54886 1 Erlang 4 Erlang/otp, Erlang\/otp, Erlang\/ssh and 1 more 2026-07-24 4.3 Medium
Loop with Unreachable Exit Condition ('Infinite Loop') vulnerability in Erlang OTP ssh (ssh_sftpd module) allows an authenticated SFTP user to render an SFTP channel permanently unresponsive. The handle_data/4 function in ssh_sftpd contains a catch-all clause that accepts channel data of any type. When channel data with a non-zero type code (SSH_MSG_CHANNEL_EXTENDED_DATA) arrives with an empty pending buffer and a payload at or below the SFTP packet size limit, the clause tail-calls itself with identical arguments, creating an infinite loop. The SFTP protocol operates exclusively on normal channel data (type 0). Extended data (non-zero type) is meaningless for SFTP and is never sent by conforming clients. However, the SSH protocol permits any channel participant to send extended data on an open channel, so an authenticated SFTP client can trigger the loop by sending SSH_MSG_CHANNEL_EXTENDED_DATA with any data_type_code and any non-empty payload at or below the size limit. The targeted ssh_sftpd process enters an infinite tail-recursive loop. It never processes another message, its message queue grows without bound, and it can only be stopped by killing the process. BEAM's reduction-based scheduler preemption continues to function, so other processes on the node are not starved, but each stuck channel process consumes its full CPU time share continuously and accumulates unbounded message queue memory. Opening many channels amplifies the CPU and memory impact. Erlang/OTP SSH configurations using the default max_channels setting (infinity) allow an authenticated user to open unlimited channels per connection, amplifying the attack without requiring multiple TCP connections or authentications. No file contents, credentials, or write access are obtainable through this issue. The impact is limited to denial of service on targeted SFTP channels, with secondary CPU degradation and memory growth. This vulnerability is associated with program file lib/ssh/src/ssh_sftpd.erl and program routine ssh_sftpd:handle_data/4. This issue affects OTP from OTP 17.0 before OTP 29.0.3, OTP 28.5.0.3 and OTP 27.3.4.14, corresponding to ssh from 3.0.1 before 6.0.2, 5.5.2.2 and 5.2.11.9.
CVE-2026-13397 1 Codechild 1 Html::bare 2026-07-23 7.5 High
HTML::Bare versions through 0.04 for Perl will hang in an infinite loop when parsing malformed attributes. The parserc_parse function never advances the attribute-parse state cursor on certain malformed attribute forms, looping forever. Nameless attributes such as "<a ='c'>" or unbalanced quotes "<a b='''''''c'>" can trigger this condition. Note that the latest version available on CPAN is version 0.02. Newer versions are available on the git repository.
CVE-2026-13401 1 Codechild 1 Xml::bare 2026-07-23 7.5 High
XML::Bare versions through 0.53 for Perl will hang in an infinite loop when parsing malformed attributes. The parserc_parse function never advances the attribute-parse state cursor on certain malformed attribute forms, looping forever. Nameless attributes such as "<a ='c'>" or unbalanced quotes "<a b='''''''c'>" can trigger this condition.

CVE-2026-50653 1 Microsoft 15 .net, .net Framework, Azure Active Directory and 12 more 2026-07-22 7.5 High
Loop with unreachable exit condition ('infinite loop') in Azure Active Directory allows an unauthorized attacker to deny service over a network.
CVE-2026-59877 2 Protobuf, Protobufjs Project 2 Protobuf, Protobufjs 2026-07-21 5.3 Medium
protobufjs compiles protobuf definitions into JavaScript (JS) functions. Prior to 7.6.5 and 8.6.6, protobufjs parsed option names by advancing through schema tokens until reaching an = token without checking for end of input, so a crafted .proto schema that opens an option declaration and ends prematurely can cause parse, Root.load, or Root.loadSync to loop indefinitely. This issue is fixed in versions 7.6.5 and 8.6.6.
CVE-2026-45785 1 Openmcdf 1 Openmcdf 2026-07-21 6.2 Medium
OpenMcdf is a fully .NET / C# library to manipulate Compound File Binary File Format files, also known as Structured Storage. In 3.1.3 and earlier, the BST name-lookup loop in DirectoryTree.TryGetDirectoryEntry (OpenMcdf/DirectoryTree.cs:35-46) walks directory entries by repeatedly calling directories.TryGetSibling(child, siblingType, validateColor). A crafted CFB file with cyclic Left/Right sibling links among directory entries, constructed so the per-step BST-order check in TryGetSibling (DirectoryEntries.cs:84-85) is satisfied at every step, drives this while (child is not null) loop forever. There is no cycle detection in TryGetDirectoryEntry, and the bug is reachable from RootStorage.OpenStorage(name), TryOpenStorage(name), OpenStream(name), and TryOpenStream(name), causing an unrecoverable denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 3.1.4.
CVE-2026-7771 1 Ibm 1 Db2 2026-07-21 5.5 Medium
IBM Db2 11.5.0 through 11.5.9, and 12.1.0 through 12.1.4 is vulnerable to a trap when compiling a specially crafted statements containing subqueries could lead to a denial of service.
CVE-2026-54538 1 Neutrinolabs 1 Xrdp 2026-07-20 7.5 High
xrdp is an open source RDP server. In versions 0.10.6 and prior, a n issue was discovered where the software fails to properly validate the totalLength field within the RDP protocol control header during packet reception. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted packet that forces the xrdp process or thread into an infinite, CPU-bound loop. Because the internal pointer fails to advance and the deadlock prevention mechanism is bypassed for specific protocol data unit types, the process consumes excessive CPU resources indefinitely. This can render the xrdp service unavailable and potentially lead to system-wide resource exhaustion if multiple malicious connections are established. This issue has been fixed in version 0.10.6.1.
CVE-2026-34962 2 Barebox, Pengutronix 2 Barebox, Barebox 2026-07-18 6.2 Medium
barebox version prior to 2026.04.0 contains a denial-of-service vulnerability in ext4 directory parsing in fs/ext4/ext4_common.c where the ext4fs_iterate_dir() function fails to validate that directory entry length values are non-zero. Attackers can supply a malicious ext4 filesystem image with a crafted directory entry containing a direntlen value of 0 to cause an infinite loop during directory listing or path resolution, resulting in the boot process hanging indefinitely.
CVE-2026-46378 1 Tomwright 1 Dasel 2026-07-17 6.2 Medium
Dasel is a command-line tool and library for querying, modifying, and transforming data structures. From 3.0.0 until 3.10.1, the selector lexer matchRegexPattern closure in (*Tokenizer).parseCurRune in selector/lexer/tokenize.go loops while tokenizing an unterminated regex literal such as r/ because peekRuneEqual returns false after the end of input, allowing attacker-controlled selector strings to consume CPU indefinitely. This issue is fixed in version 3.10.1.
CVE-2026-59203 2 Python, Python-pillow 2 Pillow, Pillow 2026-07-16 5.3 Medium
Pillow is a Python imaging library. From 12.0.0 through 12.2.0, Pillow's EPS parser in PIL/EpsImagePlugin.py accepts a negative byte count in the %%BeginBinary directive, allowing a crafted EPS file to cause Image.open() to seek backwards to the same directive and parse it repeatedly in an infinite loop. This issue is fixed in version 12.3.0.
CVE-2025-71330 2 Image-size, Image Sizes Project 2 Image-size, Image Sizes 2026-07-14 7.5 High
image-size through 2.0.2 contains a denial of service vulnerability that allows remote attackers to permanently block the Node.js event loop by supplying a specially crafted ICNS image buffer. Attackers can craft an ICNS buffer containing valid magic bytes and a zero-valued entry length field to trigger an infinite loop in the ICNS parser, as the offset is never incremented when the entry length field is 0, causing the while loop condition to remain true indefinitely.
CVE-2025-71329 2 Image-size, Image Sizes Project 2 Image-size, Image Sizes 2026-07-14 7.5 High
image-size through 2.0.2 contains a denial of service vulnerability that allows remote attackers to permanently block the Node.js event loop by supplying a specially crafted image buffer with a zero-valued size field in a recognized box-type. Attackers can trigger an infinite loop in the JXL or HEIF image parsers by providing a crafted image containing a box with a size of zero, causing the offset to never advance and permanently hanging the application.
