| Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) in Avro SerDe schema resolution in Apache Hive before 4.2.1 allows an authenticated remote attacker with CREATE TABLE privilege to cause the Hive server to fetch an attacker-controlled URL when resolving the avro.schema.url table property on an Avro table that is subsequently queried. This can expose cloud instance metadata, internal network services, or local server files to the Hive process identity. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 4.2.1, which fixes this issue. Attacker access requirements: * Network access to HiveServer2 / Metastore: required (remote attacker model). * Valid Hive authentication: required. * CREATE TABLE (or equivalent) privilege: required, so the attacker can set avro.schema.url in table properties. * SELECT privilege on the malicious table: not required for the creator, who can typically query their own table; any other user granted SELECT can also trigger the fetch. * Write access to the table LOCATION: not required; the attack uses the schema URL, not the data path. * Admin / superuser privileges: not required; an ordinary authenticated user with DDL rights is sufficient. * External tables enabled: typically required in practice, and enabled by default in most deployments. Detection guidance: * Inspect metastore / Hive table metadata for Avro tables whose avro.schema.url uses unexpected schemes such as http, https, file, or ftp, or points at link-local / cloud metadata addresses (for example 169.254.169.254) or other internal hosts. * Review HiveServer2 and Metastore logs around CREATE/ALTER TABLE and queries against Avro tables for schema-resolution failures or outbound fetches of avro.schema.url. * Correlate CREATE TABLE / ALTER TABLE activity that sets avro.schema.url with subsequent SELECT activity on the same table, especially when the URL target is unusual for schema distribution. * On cloud deployments, check instance / VPC flow logs and metadata service access logs for unexpected requests from Hive host identities shortly after Avro DDL or query activity. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: power: supply: max17040: handle missing status supplier MAX17040 does not report charger state itself, so the driver forwards POWER_SUPPLY_PROP_STATUS to a supplier power supply. If no supplier is registered, power_supply_get_property_from_supplier() returns -ENODEV and leaves the output value untouched. max17040_get_property() currently ignores that error and returns success, so userspace can read an uninitialized status value from the battery power supply. This happens on systems that use the fuel gauge without a charger supplier relationship in firmware. Return POWER_SUPPLY_STATUS_UNKNOWN when no supplier provides STATUS, and propagate other supplier lookup errors. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/percpu-km: fix bitmap overflow and accounting in pcpu_create_chunk() In pcpu_create_chunk(), nr_pages is the total contiguous backing allocation, i.e., nr_units * pcpu_unit_pages, but pcpu_chunk_populated() uses it to set chunk->populated, whose size is pcpu_unit_pages, bitmap. Since bit N in chunk->populated means page offset N inside every unit is backed. When nr_units > 1, the function writes beyond chunk->populated. Fix it by using chunk->nr_pages. It also fixes the global pcpu_nr_empty_pop_pages accounting, since pcpu_balance_free() only iterates up to chunk->nr_pages. Commit a63d4ac4ab609 ("percpu: make percpu-km set chunk->populated bitmap properly") introduced the bitmap overflow issue. Later, commit b539b87fed37f ("percpu: implmeent pcpu_nr_empty_pop_pages and chunk->nr_populated") added pcpu_nr_empty_pop_pages and caused the accounting issue. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf/x86/amd/lbr: Fix kernel address leakage A user-only branch stack can contain branches that originate from the kernel. As a result, kernel addresses are exposed to user space even when PERF_SAMPLE_BRANCH_USER is requested. On AMD processors supporting X86_FEATURE_AMD_LBR_V2, perf can still report SYSRET/ERET entries for which the branch-from addresses are in the kernel. | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ACPI: processor_idle: Mark LPI enter functions as __cpuidle When function tracing or Kprobes is enabled, entering an ACPI Low Power Idle (LPI) state triggers the following RCU splat: RCU not on for: acpi_idle_lpi_enter+0x4/0xd8 WARNING: CPU: 8 PID: 0 at include/linux/trace_recursion.h:162 function_trace_call+0x1e8/0x228 The acpi_idle_lpi_enter() function is invoked within the cpuidle path after RCU has already been disabled for the current local CPU. Consequently, ftrace's function_trace_call() expects RCU to be actively watching before recording trace data, emitting a warning if it is not. Fix this by annotating acpi_idle_lpi_enter(), the generic __weak stub, and the RISC-V implementation of acpi_processor_ffh_lpi_enter() with __cpuidle. This moves these functions into the '.cpuidle.text' section, implicitly disabling ftrace instrumentation (notrace) along this sensitive path and preventing trace-induced RCU warnings during idle entry. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: PCI: dwc: Avoid dwc_pcie_rasdes_debugfs_deinit() NULL dereference when no RAS DES capability dwc_pcie_rasdes_debugfs_init() returns success when the controller has no RAS DES capability, leaving pci->debugfs->rasdes_info unset. The common debugfs teardown path still calls dwc_pcie_rasdes_debugfs_deinit(), which dereferences rasdes_info unconditionally. Return early when no RAS DES state was allocated. | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: coresight: ete: Always save state on power down System register ETMs and ETE are unlikely to be preserved on CPU power down. The ETE DT binding also never documented "arm,coresight-loses-context-with-cpu" so nobody would have legitimately been able to use that binding to fix it and ACPI has no such binding at all. Fix it by hard coding the setting for sysreg ETMs (ETE is always sysreg) or ACPI boots. Use a local variable when setting up save_state so that it's immune to concurrent probing when devices have different configurations which is an issue with modifying the global.
